RUNNING FOR COVER!

Late in the afternoon (or actually early evening), I was sitting in my daughter and son in law's yard and I began to hear thunder way back in the South East.    When I visit them I have a special place I go outside to study and read my scriptures, at a patio table but under the trees in the backyard.  It's a quite place where their "minister mom" can "study to shew herself approved".....
There's the table, the umbrella, a fly swat (for pesky hindrances) and glasses of fresh iced tea provided by my chidlren,  and of course my old tattered bible.  there's one lone fountain a wishing well plugged into an extension cord that runs across the lawn and the little well pours continually soothing my spirit in this place where I meet God!

The sky darkens and in my studies I'm unmindful of that until suddenly a very strong wind comes bending the trees and seems to want to take the umbrella and all around it.  My children in their daily duties keep an eye on me and my half empty tea glass and now and then they peek out the window to make sure mom is okay and if the glass needs to be refilled.  Their honor is a blessing and instant which I'm thankful for

As the winds get higher and more fierce my children move quickly to retrieve the umbrella, the blble and me.  RUN FOR COVER!
There's a sudden storm coming!
This is life:  All is quite, we seek God, we are refreshed, when suddenly a strong wind begins to blow!  All is disturbed, we seek shelter,
RUN FOR COVER!
God said, "I've made a covenant with you  I'll cover you, you'll never be comfortless, (  John 14:18  ).  I'll send my Holy Spirit.  It's consistant, it's everlasting, it will not fail you as man does.  It's free and with it nothing by any means can harm you.  He said, I've loved you with an everlasting love,   Jeremiah 31:3

Once inside the shelter of my children's home, the winds subsided, no rain, no storm, no peril, no destruction.  NOTHING!

What seemed like a storm was not.  We were safe.
Many times in our life when something occurs that seems to threaten us and worries and problems try to overwhelm us and everything around us is blowing us to and fro we must RUN FOR COVER!  Under the wings of our Jesus.  He's always there, always near, He said,"I'll never leave you nor forsake you, ( Hebrews 13:5)  "I'm here,"  He promised in His word.  In that promise we know that we can rest assured that it never was a storm, it just looked like it and felt like it...........and should it ever be a real storm we're safe anyway for He is the Master, creator and we, our atmosphere and all that is and ever will be belongs to Him for the word of God says "The earth is the Lord's and fullness thereof:The world and they that dwell therein."  Psalms 24:1

So........RUN FOR COVER?   Yes!  I'll certainly do that daily, storm or no storm, no matter what's going on I'm still RUNNING FOR COVER!   Because without that covering I can't make it.  My God is the sun and the ray in my day, He's my fresh hope, the glory and the lifter of my head, He's my happiness, He's my safety, my strong tower, my joy, and the spring in my step, He's the whisper no one else hears, He's my pal who keeps all my secrets, and as brother Joey would say,  "He's the one who makes me get my SHOUT ON  and my PREACH ON when everyone else around me is hangin' a lip!  yes!  I'll RUN FOR COVER AND I CAN'T UNTIL TOMORROW MORNING SO I CAN RUN FOR COVER AGAIN !
