The Grace Exchange
Part II
Life for Death by: J. Doctor
Text: 1Co 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin [is] death; but the gift of God [is] eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Introduction: At the cross a divine exchange took place. GRACE = God’s Riches At Christ’s Expense. All the evil due us, was put upon Jesus so that All the Good due Him could come to us. In this lesson we will focus on the exchange of Eternal or Everlasting Life that we receive in exchange for death that came through sin and the fall of man. Jesus paid the wages of sin, we are free from death and have THE LIFE OF GOD!
Jesus’ definition: Eternal Life = Joh 17:3 And this is eternal life: to have knowledge of you, the only true God, and of him whom you have sent, even Jesus Christ.
Definition: to know or to have knowledge= to learn, to know, come to know, get a knowledge of perceive, feel, to understand, perceive, have knowledge of, a Jewish idiom for sexual intercourse between a man and a woman, to become acquainted with, to become one or in union together.
Thayer’s Definition: Life (everlasting /eternal Life) Zoe (in greek) = of the absolute fullness of life, both essential and ethical, which belongs to God, and through him to Christ. (then to us )
I. Adam had THE LIFE OF GOD, he was in union with God but when he sinned he forefitted that LIFE and union and instead death and separation from God came to him and all those after him. When Jesus came He brought back that LIFE and union, (called ETERNAL or EVERLASTING LIFE.) When we are born-again we become a NEW-CREATION. WHAT GOD DID IN CHRIST FOR US IS FAR GREATER THAN WHAT THE DEVIL DID IN ADAM! If you have eternal Life through Jesus Christ you are in union with God and have God‘s divine nature.
Gen 2:17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
(see notes on the three types of death)
Eze 18:4 ……the soul that sinneth, it shall die.
Jam 1:15 .. when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
Eph 4:17 -18 …. do not continue to live like the heathen, (without God) whose thoughts are worthless Having the understanding darkened, being alienated (separated) from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:
POINT: This death was instant separation from God, as soon as this happened, death came, and with it fear and condemnation and every other evil thing that is here today. Because of the sin committed in the garden we all are born into sin and death. But the GOOD NEWS is that when we come to Jesus and are born-again, we experience the new-birth, we become New-Creations, made righteous, Just-as-if-we’d-never-sinned. We receive this Eternal, Everlasting, Zoe LIFE NOW, not after our bodies die, not in the sweet bye and bye, but NOW! This LIFE from God changes us, it changes our nature, we receive a new heart, a new spirit that is Alive unto God! Praise the LORD that’s GOOD NEWS!
II. Read Romans 5:12-21
A. WE WERE DEAD IN SIN, BUT NOW WE ARE MADE ALIVE!
Rom 3:23-24 For all have sinned, (because of Adam) and come short of the glory of God;
Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
Eph 2:1-6 And you hath he quickened (made alive), who were dead in trespasses and sins;
Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened (made alive) us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised [us] up together, and made [us] sit together in heavenly [places] in Christ Jesus:
Joh 5:24GNB "I am telling you the truth: those who hear my words and believe in him who sent me have eternal life. They will not be judged, but have already passed from death to life.
Gal 3:14 MSG And now, because of that, the air is cleared (that we are forgiven) and we can see that Abraham's blessing is present and available for us, too. We are all able to receive God's life, his Spirit, in and with us by believing--just the way Abraham received it
Col 2:13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened (made alive) together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
2Ti 1:10 ….. our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:
Strong’s definition: abolish= to (render) entirely idle (useless), - abolish, cease, destroy, do away, become (make) of no none effect, bring (come) to nought, put away (down), vanish away, make void.
Heb 2:14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy (make of none effect) him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;
1Jo 3:8 …For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy (undo) the works of the devil.
Joh 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have [it] more abundantly.
Joh 1:4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
Joh 5:26 For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;
Joh 8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
B. We Have This Life NOW!
Joh 3:15-16 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, (die) but have eternal life.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, (die) but have everlasting life.
Rom 6:11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Rom 6:13 Neither yield ye your members [as] instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members [as] instruments of righteousness unto God.
III God’s word and Spirit bring LIFE (which includes healing and health) even to our Physical body
Joh 7:38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
Rom 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
Rom 8:11GNB If the Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from death, lives in you, then he who raised Christ from death will also give life to your mortal bodies by the presence of his Spirit in you.
Joh 6:63 GNB What gives life is God's Spirit; human power is of no use at all. The words I have spoken to you bring God's life-giving Spirit.
Joh 6:63 KJV It is the spirit that quickeneth; (makes alive or causes Life to come), the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, [they] are spirit, and [they] are life.
Pro 4:20-22KJV My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.
Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.
For they [are] life unto those that find them, and health (medicine) to all their flesh.
2Co 4:10-11,12 ……. that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.
2 Co 4:11 …… that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.
2Co 4:12……Life worketh in you.
John 20:31
CLOSING: This LIFE is available to all those who believe that Jesus died on the cross for their sins, was buried and rose again on the third day by God’s Power. The Bible says that if we believe in our hearts that God raised Jesus from the dead and confess with our mouth’s the Lord Jesus, we will be saved. If you have not done that then do it now, If you have already done that then continue to be filled and refilled with The LIFE of God, Eternal LIFE. Be filled with the Spirit of God that Brings LIFE!

VINE’S DICTIONARY ON BIBLICAL WORDS
i< zoe >
(Eng., "zoo," "zoology") is used in the NT "of LIFE as a principle, LIFE in the absolute sense, LIFE as God has it, that which the Father has in Himself, and which He gave to the Incarnate Son to have in Himself, Joh_5:26, and which the Son manifested in the world, 1Jo_1:2. From this life l man has become alienated in consequence of the Fall, Eph_4:18, and of this life men become partakers through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, Joh_3:15, who becomes its Author to all such as trust in Him, Act_3:15, and who is therefore said to be 'the lifel of the believer, Col_3:4, for the life that He gives He maintains, Joh_6:35, Joh_6:63. Eternal life is the present actual possession of the believer because of his relationship with Christ, Joh_5:24; 1Jo_3:14, and that it will one day extend its domain to the sphere of the body is assured by the Resurrection of Christ, 2Co_5:4; 2Ti_1:10. This life is not merely a principle of power and mobility, however, for it has moral associations which are inseparable from it, as of holiness and righteousness. Death and sin, life and holiness, are frequently contrasted in the Scriptures.
"Zoe is also used of that which is the common possession of all animals and men by nature, Act_17:25; 1Jo_5:16, and of the present span of man upon the earth with reference to its duration, Luk_16:25; 1Co_15:19; 1Ti_4:8; 1Pe_3:10. 'This life is a term equivalent to 'the gospel,' 'the faith,' 'Christianity,' Act_5:20."
Death came through sin, Rom_5:12, which is rebellion against God. Sin thus involved the forfeiting of the eternal life "The life of the flesh is in the blood," Lev_17:11. Therefore the impartation of eternal life to the sinner must be by a death caused by the shedding of that element which is the life of the flesh. "It is the blood that maketh atonement. The separation from God caused by the forfeiting of the life could be removed only by a sacrifice in which the victim and the offerer became identified. This which was appointed in the typical offerings in Israel received its full accomplishment in the voluntary sacrifice of Christ. The shedding of the blood in the language of Scripture involves the taking or the giving of the life, Since Christ had no sins of his own to die for, His death was voluntary and vicarious, Joh_10:15 with Isa_53:5, Isa_53:10, Isa_53:12; 2Co_5:21. In His sacrifice He endured the Divine judgment due to man's sin. By this means the believer becomes identified with Him in His deathless life, through His resurrection, and enjoys conscious and eternal fellowship with God.
<psuche>
besides its meanings, "heart, mind, soul," denotes life, in two chief respects, (a) "breath of life the natural life," e.g., Mat_2:20; Mat_6:25; Mar_10:45; Luk_12:22; Act_20:10; Rev_8:9; Rev_12:11 (cp. Lev_17:11; Est_8:11); (b) "the seat of personality," e.g., Luk_9:24, explained in Luk_9:25 as "own self." See list under SOUL. See also HEART, MIND.
<agoge>
"a manner of life 2Ti_3:10; see CONDUCT.
<A-6,Noun,391,anastrophe>
"behavior, conduct," is translated "manner of life" (AV "conversation") in the RV of Gal_1:13; 1Ti_4:12; 1Pe_1:18; 1Pe_3:16; "living," in 1Pe_1:15. See BEHAVIOR.
<zoopoieo>
"to make alive, cause to live, quicken" (from zoe, "life," and poieo, "to make"), is used as follows: "(a) of God as the bestower of every kind of life in the universe, 1Ti_6:13 (zoogoneo, to preserve alive, is the alternative reading adopted by most editors; see LIVE, No. 6), and, particularly, of resurrection life, Joh_5:21; Rom_4:17; (b) of Christ, who also is the bestower of resurrection life, Joh_5:21 (2nd part); 1Co_15:45; cp. 1Co_15:22; (c) of the resurrection of Christ in "the body of His glory," 1Pe_3:18; (d) of the power of reproduction inherent in seed, which presents a certain analogy with resurrection, 1Co_15:36; (e) of the 'changing,' or 'fashioning anew,' of the bodies of the living, which corresponds with, and takes place at the same time as, the resurrection of the dead in Christ, Rom_8:11; (f) of the impartation of spiritual life, and the communication of spiritual sustenance generally, Joh_6:63; 2Co_3:6; Gal_3:21." * [* From Notes on Galatians, by Hogg and Vine, pp. 154,155.] See QUICKEN, and cp. sunzoopoieo, "to quicken together with," Eph_2:5; Col_2:13.
Notes: (1) For the verb diago, "to lead a life," see LIVE, No. 7. (2) For politeuo, in Phi_1:27, RV, "let your manner of life be," see LIVE, No. 8.
A More Abundant Life
The Word of the Lord came to me saying: I came that you might have life and have it more abundantly. So don't disappoint me, receive it. I'm not holding it back, it's flowing like a river, flowing from heaven, flowing from inside your very being, receive it and rejoice, saith the Lord. Receive life abundant and all of the strongholds of death, fear, doubt, unbelief, oppression, depression, sickness, disease and all manner of mental illnesses and disorders must flow out with the stream—be flushed out by the flowing, living love and grace of the Master. So receive, thrill the heart of your Father and receive. Glorify the Name of Jesus by receiving. Loving, thrilling, worshiping, blessing and moving in the flow of the spirit. These are the things of the hour and this is the Word from heaven unto you right now. Rejoice in My presence for I'm here to do you good, saith the Lord.
