Satan's Responsibility in Eternity Past

We hear many things about Satan's responsibility in eternity past prior to his fall. In the interest of space, Ezekiel 28:14 makes it clear:  "Thou art the anointed Cherub that covereth." This indicates that he was a "ceremonial guard of the throne of Jesus Christ."  Anointed (Hebrew adjective = Messianic); Cherub (highest order of angels); that covereth ("covering" as in "guarding").

perfect until that moment...

was it a thought? a feeling? free will...who (but God) can understand it?

Thanks for your comment "pantofle."  Not really difficult to understand. Isaiah 14:13-14 explains the moral fall of Lucifer Son of the Morning. His "wickedness" was thoughts generated by his arrogance prompted by his "beauty" (Ezekiel 28:17). Isaiah 14:13-14 are referred to as the "Five I Will's of Satan." I explain these "5 I Will's" in the following document: http://www.jimbrettell.org/deeper/angconf.doc. Thanks again for your comment.

I have a question:

Can only God create?  How was wickedness found in Lucifer if it wasn't created by God.  Why did God allow this to happen?  To manifest the untiy of His attributes?  Why did God allow this to happen?

Thanks!

To JDillard:  Forgive me, my friend.  I didn't know that you had made this post.  I will answer for you now.  Perhaps, better late than never.

You asked: "Can only God create?"

My response:  Yes, only God can create if by create we mean ex-nihilo" -- that is, to create something from nothing.  We manufacture something from something, but only God can create something from nothing.

You asked: 'How was wickedness found in Lucifer if it wasn't created by God."

My response:  Great question. While God created Lucifer in righteousness, Lucifer produced his own wickedness by the "5 I wills" of Isaiah 14:13-14. The righteous standards of Creator God were violated by Lucifer when he said, "I will" five times.  By acts of his own volition in violation of God's standards, Lucifer produced his own wickedness, and the fact that it was found "in" him, is an indication that sin is not just something we DO, but is also a thought in the mind.

You asked:  "Why did God allow this to happen?"

My response:  God created for the purpose of glorifying Himself through the manifestation of the unity of His attributes.  God did not intend His creatures to be robots; therefore, all creatures are created with volition -- capacity to choose -- even if the choice is wrong.  Lucifer so chose.

You asked: "To manifest the unity of His attributes?"

My response:  TO GLORIFY HIMSELF through the manifestation of the unity of His attributes.

Thanks, JDillard

Thanks!
