The Message Bible..Raise your voice

  1. Isaiah 40:9
Climb a high mountain, Zion. You're the preacher of good news. Raise your voice. Make it good and loud, Jerusalem. You're the preacher of good news. Speak loud and clear. Don't be timid! Tell the cities of Judah, "Look! Your God!" Look at him! God, the Master, comes in power, ready to go into action. He is going to pay back his enemies and reward those who have loved him. Like a shepherd, he will care for his flock, gathering the lambs in his arms, Hugging them as he carries them, leading the nursing ewes to good pasture.
Isaiah 40:8-10 (in Context) Isaiah 40 (Whole Chapter)

Do you know someone who might be in need of an intervention? Is their life in danger from themselves by what they are doing to themselves and it’s affected their family and friends? Don’t wait, act now! You might not know what their future plans are and it might be to end their life. Even if you have just a hunch or you sub-conscious is telling you that something isn’t quite right, go with that hunch.

You may just as well save that person from ending their life when you act sooner than later. I was involved in a group called SAVE Suicide Awareness Voices of Education www.save.org they also have a 24hr hotline to call on their website.

I watch a show on a regular basis called Intervention and this is related to people who are hooked on drugs and/or drinking addictions. www.aetv.com/intervention/ I learn a lot about the people and how much their families care about them to get better and to go into treatment. Habits are so hard to break, whether they are drug related or not.  I would greatly encourage you if you are a family member of a loved one who you know is hooked on drug addition to get help soon. They might not like the idea of you intervening on them but it is in their best interest and it’s coming from your heart.

Lastly, pray for them. If they don’t have a relationship with God, that is something to pray about.  If they do have relationship with God they will in time get the intervention that they need from God and He will guide them in the right direction, which is a path onto recovery.

There are a lot of resources available for drug rehabilitation. I dated someone who tried to commit suicide and was or still is extremely depressed. It affects you mentally more than anything. I’ve had family member’s who have committed suicide. I knew of a girl’s boyfriend who committed suicide. You are left with a hole and you don’t know what to do. It’s important in family tradegies like this that we turn to God and our loved ones that are still with us.

We need to turn to other’s who love us and who we know will be there for us when we are in deep tragic situations. Don’t deal with it by yourself. Seek out love and help. If you are thinking of committing suicide, call for help.

The Message Bible …search word habit

1 Corinthians 7:23
All of you, slave and free both, were once held hostage in a sinful society. Then a huge sum was paid out for your ransom. So please don't, out of old habit, slip back into being or doing what everyone else tells you. Friends, stay where you were called to be. God is there. Hold the high ground with him at your side.
