The Last Gift

The Last Gift
The Holiday’s are here. We spend hours planning and preparing for the meal, the festival’s, the get together’s. We have many gift’s that don’t need opening. Such as gift’s of the Spirit which should be more important than material gifts. Gift’s of the Spirit is what keeps us balanced in an unbalanced world. I was reading through a passage Galatians 6 4:5

It is fun to receive all these gifts because it makes us satisfied and content but it’s only for a short period of time and then we crave something else. As it says in Proverbs 21:17 T
his is truth of God’s word. More importantly are the fruits of the Spirit. I think we need to emphasis and focus more on the gift’s that we can’t hold and obtain but rather what we can share of ourselves and give of ourselves. I think that for most of us we find a much more satisfying gratification that lasts when we give of ourselves unselfishly.  The definition of gratification is – a source of pleasure. Let your source of pleasure be that of the Spirit. Focus on what the Spirit has to offer you. Tune into your Spirit.   Lastly, in light of all the material gift’s we give the last give we need to always remember is that of Jesus being the center and reason for celebrating.

(The Message Bible)
4-5 Make a careful exploration of who you are and the work you have been given, and then sink yourself into that. Don't be impressed with yourself. Don't compare yourself with others. Each of you must take responsibility for doing the creative best you can with your own life.

Proverbs 21:17
You're addicted to thrills? What an empty life! The pursuit of pleasure is never satisfied.

Here are the 9 fruits of the Holy Spirit listed one right after the other in a bullet point format:

  • Love
  • Joy
  • Peace
  • Longsuffering
  • Kindness
  • Goodness
  • Faithfulness
  • Gentleness
  • Self-control

Now here is the specific verse from Scripture where these 9 fruits are being given to us by the Lord:

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control." (Galatians 5:22)

  1. Isaiah 26:7
The path of right-living people is level. The Leveler evens the road for the right-living. We're in no hurry, God. We're content to linger in the path sign-posted with your decisions. Who you are and what you've done are all we'll ever want. Through the night my soul longs for you. Deep from within me my spirit reaches out to you. When your decisions are on public display, everyone learns how to live right. If the wicked are shown grace, they don't seem to get it. In the land of right living, they persist in wrong living, blind to the splendor of God.
Isaiah 26:6-8 (in Context) Isaiah 26 (Whole Chapter)
