Praying Heaven Down
by J. Doctor 3/5/2007 "The Year of The Opened Door"
Someone onced asked "what does Phd stand for?" Someone answered it means "Post Hole Digger" but another answer I heard was interesting, "it means: Praying Heaven Down".
But jokes aside I want to talk to you about Praying Heaven Down. God has Given every one of us in the Body of Christ the ability to Pray Heaven Down upon the Earth. Jesus told us to pray Thy Kingdom Come, Thy Will Be Done, On Earth as it is in Heaven! In order for Revival to come to the earth there must be Prayer. When you act on this word you too can have a Phd.
Prayer and Revival cannot be seperated.
We Must Pray so God can Do.
Re-Vival = bringing something Back to Life
Re-Fresh.
You cannot revive something that never had life in it to begin with.
Revival is for the church, not the world. Ultimatly it will affect the world but it starts in the church.
Soulwinning is a result of Revival. Revival is God's way to get us doing what we are suppost to be doing.
Every One of us has God's Ability to Pray for the Rain of God's Anointing to Come Down.
Elijah was just a man (mankind) like us, even though God used him as a prophet he had emotions and felt like we felt, he was a man.
Jam 5:17
(Bible in Basic English) Elijah was a man of flesh and blood as we are, and he made a strong prayer that there might be no rain; and there was no rain on the earth for three years and six months.
Jam 5:18 And he made another prayer, and the heaven sent down rain and the earth gave her fruit.
----------
Jam 5:17 (Amplified) Elijah was a human being with a nature such as we have [with feelings, affections, and a constitution like ours]; and he prayed earnestly for it not to rain, and no rain fell on the earth for three years and six months. [I Kings 17:1.]
Jam 5:18 And [then] he prayed again and the heavens supplied rain and the land produced its crops [as usual]. [I Kings 18:42-45.]
Question: How did Elijah, a man like us pray? The Bible gives him as our example of fervent prayer made by a mere man. lets look back to 1 Kings 17:1 and see how Elijah prayed.
1Ki 17:1 (Good News Bible) A prophet named Elijah, from Tishbe in Gilead, said to King Ahab, "In the name of the LORD, the living God of Israel, whom I serve, I tell you that there will be no dew or rain for the next two or three years until I say so."
Question: Did Elijah (a mere man) beg God? Did he pray like some of us? Did he pray fervently like some of us understand what fervently means? No he didn't pray like the religious folks taught us to pray.
What and How did Elijah "pray" first he did not ask, he declared, he said with authority (the word pray in the original also means Demand)
The Bible in James 5 calls Elijah's Calling forth of the rain to stop and start "prayer". When it comes to Church and Religion and the Things of God I use the Bible as the Final Authority. Lets Let the Bible Define and give definition of things instead of our religious tradition, instead of "man's" teachings.
Now lets look at how God responded to a "man" in bringing the rain
1Ki 18:1
And it came to pass [after] many days, that the word of the LORD came to Elijah in the third year, saying, Go, shew thyself unto Ahab; and I will send rain upon the earth.
Please do not put Elijah up on a pedistil, Jesus said that there is no greater prophet than John the Baptist...then He said that the least in the Kingdom of God is Greater than John the Baptist! By saying that Jesus said YOU are not just like Elijah, or John the Baptist, YOU are not just like a mere man, YOU are Seated in Heavenly places Far above All Powers, Principalities.... YOU have the ability to Bring forth the Rain, The Rain of the Holy Ghost in these last days.
Zec 10:1 Ask ye of the LORD rain in the time of the latter rain; [so] the LORD shall make bright clouds, and give them showers of rain, to every one grass in the field.
When You ask for the Rain in the time of the Latter Rain (now), God will give Rain. Rain is a type of the Anointing. God used the word "pour" when He described the last final outpouring of the Holy Spirit. God Himself in Hosea said He will Come to us like the Rain.
Lets Pray Heaven Down by Praying in the Holy Spirit, Lets Pray the Rain Down, Lets Declare, Command and Call Forth the Rain. Not like Elijah YOU have more Authority! Not like Elijah YOU have more Commanding Power! YOU have The Name of Jesus! Keep this in mind as you Pray for Revival Today...
