Re: To Drink or not to Drink?

Some use the excuse to drink by  saying Paul told Timonthy to drink some wine to help stomach trouble. I do not believe it was an  alcoholic drink because God would not contradict himself by what he said in the Old Testament where he says do not look upon the wine when it is red, wine is a mocker, and many others already mentioned. Fresh juice is very good for you health and your stomach, especially concord grape juice which included the skins that has medicinal properties. Jesus would not  do anything contrary to His Father's will by turning water into alcohol. Here is a    statement I just read yesterday from a Jewish Doctor who believes we need to get back to eating foods that were in the Bible to be healthy.

"It is time to return to lacto-fermented beverages, which contain beneficial probiotics, enzymes, and minerals instead of hundreds of grams of refined sugar. Many scholars believe that the "new wine" consumed in the Bible was a nonalcoholic lacto-fermented beverage. These drinks also promote rapid hydration and enhanced digestion. Some typical fermented beverages available today include kefir, grape cooler, natural ginger ale, kombucha, and kvass.

These lactic-acid-rich drinks help relieve intestinal problems, including constipation. They can strengthen the sick and promote overall well-being and stamina and are even considered superior to plain water in their ability to relieve thirst during physical labor. "

Re: To Drink or not to Drink?

This I know about drinking, wine or whayever, from a long life as an "DRUNK". Regardless of what the Bible says about drinking "people who are born again" know it is wrong to drink!
I started drinking and smoking from a young age, around 13 or so. Everyone I hung out with did it, I was raised "with drinking." I was in the Armed Forces for twenty years, at the time when drinking, smoking, girly mags, etc were the norm.
Today I thank God for people who were raised by christian families, people who probably prayed for me. People who never led the life I did. Anyhow, at one time I owned a bar, let the good times roll, bull!
I received Christ on a thursday evening in a small country church, I had been drunk on home made wine that day. For some reason I wanted to go to church that evening with my wife. Jesus appeared to me and I have never slipped back into the prior life (I have not always moved forward)! I quess I have said all this to say, " the next morning I went to the refrigerator to get a beer, wait a mintue "I don't drink anymore".
Take it from one who drank the biggest part of his life that without God in my life I would have been dead by now, in hell! Drinking was a big part of my life, when drinking I became a person with "loose morals", to put it kindly, and didn't care about anyone but myself.
Does God think drinking is okay for a christian, you are of course kidding right!
I don't want this to be a testimony about anything except drinking, IT IS NOT GOD"S WILL FOR HIS CHILDREN TO DRINK!  Any person who thinks they can drink in moderation are fooling themselves, or trying to fool themselves.

    Blessings,
    Jack

    SpeaktheWord,

thats right, juices are very good for us. Cranberry juice is good for the prostate as well as fights cancer... Many benefits to drinking juices or even taking juice suppliments...  Juicers are great! You can have your own juice bar... I especially love the pure grape juice.. mmm ...

Jmac, I too started drinking at about 11 or 12 and smoked and later went on to harder things... But God delivered me! Thank you Jesus! Now I am a drunkard of the Holy Ghost! Jesus is the Bartenders of Bartenders!  give me another....

    Thank You Jesus!
