Re: Recent Changes in Website Format

Ok! Looks like the Communities Staff got the member count etc. listed again under the who is online box. Way to go guys. I thought that was a cool feature.

Also, if you go to the "blogs" link I can see that there is the option to see comments etc again which is nice.

     Thanks again! :-P

Re: Recent Changes in Website Format

C-faith Admin......You're almost there!  Everything is just great, except for one thing.  That is the "Most Popular Blogs."  I am a professional in a busy group practice and am very involved in our local church as well, etc....time is precious!  Because I don't have time to access every single blog and read them all,  the "Most Popular Blog List" helps me immensely by highlighting what seems to be most important to the members at large.  Conversely, I believe there may be important blogs that will get lost in this new format and not be accessed by many members  and visitors because of the blog volume.  Suggestion.....Have a "Most Popular Blogs" section that could cover a month at a time.  Then start over with new Most Popular Blogs list for the next month. (??)  This would make much greater use of my time which is already limited.  I wish I had the time to read all of the blogs and forums but, for me,  that is just not feasible.

At first I thought I was on the wrong site too LOL .  There are so many changes on here I am totally lost!  Oh wait--NO I 'm not lost I am saved by  the blood of Jesus!
I couldnt find   things like control panel that was on several pages and manage blog, all the things you can do  and see on that part, or how to even post a  blog  until tonight. Now  I see on  the homepage  they added  and made it really plain to find  our own  blog and then go to control panel, which I suppose is the only way to do it. Slowly but surely I'll figure this out !

I agree with you that many good posts get lost in so many posts, and very rapidly! I have found some excellent ones way back and they were far from rating most popular. Really I think it is a matter of opinion.  What would  be popular with some may not  be to others.

I can't read all of them now either since we have grown this much.

    Hey AmeriKan,

The most popular blogs link is actually there. It is located under the "Recent Blogs" at the bottom of the box:

Re: Recent Changes in Website Format

So is there anything you guys are unable to find. Did you ever have the thought, "I wonder where they put ______"? If so let us know and we can point you in the right direction! Thanks everyone for your patience as we moved to the new look. I think it's a drastic improvement over the old one (maybe I'm biased) and I hope it is a blessing to everyone. Change may be a little painful at first, but it's for the best. Smile

    Uhhh...Clayman

I don't see POPULAR BLOGS on mine either. On the  homepage there is no "Recent Blogs"  but at the bottom of the page is

    Recent Blog Posts.

When I click it ( or BLOGS at the top of the page)  it only shows this:

    More Posts Next page »

As a matter of fact,  what you show in your post looks NOTHING like  that  page on my website of CFaith Communities.
    The way you show this

Popular Blogs  l  More Recent Blogs

was the way the OLD ONE looked, but you posted it tonight after the change.

How about the members' blog search engines? I know if they type in "Praise Reports" for example in their own blogs that my posts will be in their blog...

Re: Recent Changes in Website Format

    SpeaktheWord,

On the home page there are four boxes. starting with the upper, left-most box and reading clockwise, they are: Join Our Community, Active Forums, Unanswered Forums, and Recent Blogs.

"Recent Blogs" is the lower, left-most box. At the very bottom, inside the "Recent Blogs" box, there are two links: one says "Popular Blogs" and the other says "More Recent Blogs."

You really can't see this? Please let me know when you get a chance...thanks!

    Doc,

This is a known issue, and we have a fix for it. Actually, we tried to apply the fix today, and ran into some additional problems (if you noticed site problems between 10 am and 11 am CST then this is probably what caused it). It may have to wait until next week before it gets fixed, but we do have it on our radar, and we do know how to fix it.

    Hey Admin
LOL I 'm not quite THAT blind yet!    I better get these glasses changed    They are  NO GOOD!  Yes I found it. I was looking at the very bottom of the page where it had been before. Now if you can solve all my other  problems on here  that easy you are a genius!

The thing I don't undertand though is when I clicked popular blogs its in the order of when it was posted not those most popular first.  There were two at the top not rated no views no comments and farther  down the page some were but it wasn't consistent . So I  never  did see much difference in that  and  the recent posts really.
