What Will Your Memory Say When You're Gone?

This is a poem God gave me early this morning.

What Will Your Memory Say When You’re Gone?

What will your memory say, when you’re gone,

When the legend that was your life has been fully made known,

And the ones that you’ve loved have all been left alone,

What will your memory say, when you’re gone?

There is but a brief line between the years that we‘ve been,

A small narrow space that will n’er be again,

In that one tiny space stands the truth that was, and now forever is,

The gifts that we gave good or bad in the lives that we’ve lived.

What does your life say as you go down it’s roads,

On your journeys towards your life’s destiny’s goals,

And when at last you’ve reached all that you could achieve,

Will your memory be a good memory for someone to believe?

What will your memory say when you’re gone,

And the life that you’ve lived is over and done,

Will the words that you’ve said and the things that you’ve done,

Be valued treasures for a loved one to cherish and own?

What will your memory say when you're gone?

Just returned from a memorial service of a friend's husband.  His life's verse was Acts 11:24  "For he was a good man, and full of the Holy Ghost and of faith: and much people was added unto the Lord."  They spoke of the wonderful things he did for God; he was a partner with CBN and helped fund a world vision project where many people are being "added unto the Lord" in Iran.  Everyone who spoke talked about his prayers.  Whenever someone prayed, he prayed too, for others.  His last words were a prayer "by His stripes I'm healed". He was quiet and unassuming.  Most people didn't know he was involved as a board member of CBN because he was more interested in others than promoting himself.  His wife is an awesome lady too.  She was so graceous to everyone and a tower of strength through the whole ordeal.  Pat Robertson came and gave a wonderful word of hope to those attending.  He was/is a great man nobody knew and yet his memory speaks loudly of the One he loved.
