Re: Will there be a Rapture?

A Bible Study of the Marriage of the Bride of Christ (The Jewish Wedding)

To understand bible prophecy about the return of Jesus Christ, we need to understand the Jewish Wedding as presented in scripture, because Christ spoke of his return with many Wedding Analogies. Matt 22, Matt 25, Rev. 19 & 21, Luke 12:36, "And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding..."

The Holy Bible says the Bride of Christ is the Church.
Eph 5:25 "Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church... ",
2Cor 11:2 "...I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.",
Rom 7:4...."ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead..."

The Wedding Analogy shows the Pre Tribulaiton Rapture because the union of the bride and groom (the rapture) takes place at the start of the Bridal Week, which is a type of the Tribulation Week.  The word for bridal week as used in Genesis 29 & Judges 14  is the same word in Daniel 9:27.  The word "week", or shavuah in Hebrew, simply means a seven, it means seven days or seven years.  Further, there are two Old Testament examples where a day from a prophetic type turns into a year of judgment.  Num 14:34 & Ezek 4:6.

Here are a few key examples of the significance of the Wedding Parallel. The bride price is paid by the groom for the bride.  Jesus paid for us with his life. The virgin girl shows that she accepts the written covenant agreement of the marriage by drinking a glass of wine, and this has become the communion ritual that Jesus gave to the Church.  The betrothed bride would also have a ritual cleansing bath, and this is like baptism of water and spirit, or the cleansing of the word in Eph 5.

The groom departs to build the bridal chamber where they will live together, and Jesus said John 14:2 "In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you." John 14:3 "And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also."

When finished, the groom would return at a time unexpected "of that day or hour no man knows" to fetch, or take away (rapture) his bride, like a thief in the night, which is a type of the action of the rapture.  At the end of Judges 21, there is a mass bridal abduction.  In Deut 22:25-29 and Exodus 22:15-17 we see that the penalty for taking a virgin (through force or seduction) is a permanant marriage with no divorce provision.  This is like the "incorruptable immortality" as described in the rapture passage in 1 Cor 15:51-54

Thus, the intimate union between man and wife in the bridal chamber is a picture of being in heaven with our Lord Jesus Christ after the rapture.  At the end of this bridal week, the bride and groom emerge at the wedding feast or marriage supper.  Even the slaughter at the marriage supper, or Armageddon, is pictured in Judges 14 as Samson kills 30 Philistines.

I urge all who read this to study more of these Wedding Parallels, which teach about the pre tribulation rapture, and the type of relationship our Lord Jesus Christ is seeking with us.

The Marriage of the Bride of Christ.  The Pretribulation Rapture Introduction and summary of scriptures for each topic below

    1. The Holy Spirit choses the bride, and brings people to God through repentance
    2. A bride price (dowry) is established, Christ gave his life to purchase and redeem us
    3. Consent: the bride agrees and chooses to accept her husband's offer
    4. Written document, Covenant agreement, written registry
    5. Drinking a glass of wine; a toast, a communion, seals the covenant agreement.
    6. Betrothal [espoused/engaged/promised]
    7. Ritual Cleansing bath; a Mikveh or Baptism
    8. Gifts given to the Bride
    9. The bridegroom departed, going back to his father's house to prepare the bridal chamber, closet (many mansions)
    10. The bride was consecrated, set apart, and kept herself ready for the bridegroom to return, and wore a vail which is like the blood of Jesus covering our sins, the righteousness of the saints
    11. Bridegroom comes for his Bride on a "day or hour no man knows, but my father only" with a shout, command, last trump, trumpet blast
    12. Jesus comes for (raptures) his Bride as a Thief
    13. Going through the open door into heaven (at the rapture)
    14. The bridal week (a day for a year) in the wedding chamber as the tribulation week of Daniel
    15. (Marriage supper / Wedding Feast) when the bride and groom emerge from the bridal chamber at the end of seven days, and the Lord returns with the Bride at the end of the seven year tribulation
    16. The slaughter at the marriage supper
    17. The bride and groom were seen as king and queen, trumpet blasts herald the reign of a new king, at the rapture at the trumpet blast, Christ and his people begin to rule in heaven
    18. The Judgment Seat of Christ, (pictured by the Feast of Trumpets, a picture of the wedding of the messiah, and rapture.)

The Marriage of the Bride of Christ

This study shows that the Bride of Christ will be presented as a chaste virgin to Christ at the pre tribulation rapture, before the seven year tribulation.
We should study very closely what the Bible says about Weddings and Marriage, because we are told that we are wed to Christ – a great mystery.

    Eph 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
Eph 5:31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.
Eph 5:32 This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.
1Cor 15:51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
2Cor 11:2 For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.

And we should pay attention to the wedding stories and examples in the Old Testament because they are parallels and similitudes and prophesies of the end time.

Hosea 12:10 I have also spoken by the prophets, and I have multiplied visions, and used similitudes, by the ministry of the prophets.
1Cor 10:11 Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.
Romans 15:4  For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.

The doctrine of the pre tribulation rapture, and prophesy itself, is given for comfort and hope.

1 Thessalonians 4:18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
2 Thessalonians 2:17 Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.
1 Cor 14:3 But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort.
    Titus 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

Particularly, we should also study parallels about the Feast of Trumpets, the new moon festival, to understand end time theology, because the Feast of Trumpets is also known as the Wedding of the Messiah.

[Col 2:16] Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
[Col 2:17] Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

Yes, Christians should be married to Jesus, the one who is raised from the dead:

Romans 7:4 Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.

So, let’s study the Wedding of the Messiah, and Weddings in the Bible, keeping in mind that Col 2:17 says that the Feast of Trumpets Wedding of the Messiah is a "shadow of things to come", a prophesy about the return of the Lord Jesus Christ. Also, according to 2 Cor 11:2, the Church and Bride of Christ shall be presented as a chaste virgin to Christ.

There are 18 topical headings, 16 of which contain a major comparison between Old Testament verses and New Testament verses along the theme of Christ being wed to the Church.  They are not necessarily in exact order.

Zola Levitt Ministries also has a excellent study on the Cuhrch as the Bride of Christ, the Wedding Feast and so forth. Zola Passed a couple years back, but his school and ministry are still in operation. Zola understood the Wedding Feast and so forth quite well since he was a Jew.

    Is God an Anti-Semite?

    CUFI EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR DAVID BROG'S
    WEEKLY MESSAGE:
    The New Inquisition

Brog BlogWhat was most breathtaking about the debate over Pastor Hagee's statements on the Holocaust was the complete absence of one.  This was not a case where thoughtful arbiters discussed his words in the context of a rich Judeo-Christian tradition of theodicy.  There was no respect given to a quite common worldview   There was no trial.  We skipped right to the auto da fe.

Breathe in deeply and you can still smell the embers smoldering around Pastor Hagee's public persona.

With an ever-increasing ferocity, large swaths of the media and the blogosphere are enforcing a new orthodoxy of post-modern contempt for literal religious faith.  The heresy they hunt is the belief in an omnipotent God who intervenes in history.  And the punishment they impose is public death, banishment from the public square.  Their power is sufficient to give pause to even the secular-minded among us.

The New Inquisition- June 2, 2008
The recent controversy over Pastor John Hagee is about much more than one man and his "crazy" (John McCain's word) comments.  The nature of the attacks on Pastor Hagee and the rapidity with which they spread and hardened into the ugliest of conclusions revealed something far deeper and far more disturbing about our public discourse on faith in America.

What was most breathtaking about the debate over Pastor Hagee's statements on the Holocaust was the complete absence of one.  This was not a case where thoughtful arbiters discussed his words in the context of a rich Judeo-Christian tradition of theodicy.  There was no respect given to a quite common worldview.   There was no trial.

The treatment of Pastor Hagee last week demonstrates the danger.  Pastor Hagee's "offense" was to apply his belief in an omnipotent God to the greatest of tragedies:  the Holocaust.  After all, an all powerful God by definition could have prevented the Holocaust.  So why didn't he?  In the search for an answer, Pastor Hagee quoted the book of Jeremiah to suggest that God permitted the Holocaust to bring the Jewish people back to Israel.

Far from representing anything new or shocking, this belief that God sanctions the bad as well as good has deep roots in the Judeo-Christian tradition.  In the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus teaches that not even a sparrow falls from the sky unless God wills it.  If one sparrow cannot die without God's consent, then it is certainly reasonable to conclude that the same is true of six million human beings created in God's image.

The Jewish tradition likewise sees an omnipotent God behind human events.  To cite just one example, the Talmud teaches that the Temple in Jerusalem was destroyed because of the baseless hatred that the Jews had for one another at that time.  In other worlds, according to the Talmud, God sent the Romans to destroy the Temple because of the sins of the Jews.

I am hard pressed to find a difference between Pastor Hagee's explanation for the Holocaust and the Talmud's explanation for the destruction of the Temple.

Let's be clear:  Pastor Hagee's crime was not the specifics of his explanation for the Holocaust.  The talking heads were not outraged that he found his answer in the book of Jeremiah instead of the book of Isaiah.  His real crime was the fact that he dared to suggest any explanation for the Holocaust that involved a consenting God.  To so many arbiters poised over their keyboards, it is simply a heresy to see the hand of God in our tragedies.  If this view contradicts your faith in a sovereign God, then you've got a big problem.

Once you've been found guilty of a faith too literal, your public death will be imposed by a thousand cuts.  Your life's work will be ignored.  Your perfidy will be repeated on YouTube and in blogs where people who know nothing about you, and who've never read a complete transcript of anything you've said, will condemn you with an ever-escalating certitude.  Cymbals will ceaselessly clang.

Who among us is safe in an environment where John Hagee can be labeled an anti-Semite?  Few Christians have done more than John Hagee to combat anti-Semitism and support the State of Israel.  But then he dared to contradict the prevailing orthodoxy.  With an absurdity that would make Stalin proud, this lifelong Zionist is now convicted of attacking the very people he has devoted his life to comforting and supporting.

All of us who embrace or respect a more traditional Judeo-Christian worldview need to recognize that Pastor Hagee's problem is our problem.  Every Orthodox Jew, Orthodox Catholic and evangelical Christian in America has particular cause for concern.  Your views of God and how he interacts in the world are no longer acceptable in the public square.  Close the curtains and turn the television volume high before confessing your literal interpretation of the Bible.  That large whooshing sound you heard last week was a shot across your bow.

    Dear friends of Israel,

Christians United for Israel’s presence in Washington, D.C. July 21-24 will send a tangible message to our country, the media, and the people of Israel that thousands of Christians love Israel and will stand with her in difficult times.

We pray that you will be able to join us in Washington, D.C., but we understand that not everyone can make the trip.

Therefore, we want to provide you with an opportunity to make your voice heard.  We have designed The Israel Pledge as a way for you, your family and friends to tangibly express your support of Israel from home.

Please join us by signing The Israel Pledge.  The more people who sign the pledge, the more powerful a statement we can make.   We will keep a running tally of how many people have signed, and we will share these numbers with the American and Israeli publics and with our leaders in Washington when we visit them in July.  This is one case where numbers can speak even louder than words.

    The Israel Pledge
WE BELIEVE that the Jewish people have a right to live in their ancient land of Israel, and that the modern State of Israel is the fulfillment of this historic right.

WE MAINTAIN that there is no excuse for acts of terrorism against Israel and that Israel has the same right as every other nation to defend her citizens from such violent attacks.

WE PLEDGE to stand with our brothers and sisters in Israel and to speak out on their behalf whenever and wherever necessary until the attacks stop and they are finally living in peace and security with their neighbors.

The Importance of Signing the Israel Pledge
In 1891, the Jewish people were under attack.  Jewish towns and villages throughout Russia were being ransacked by violent, anti-Semitic mobs.  Thousands of Jews had been killed in cold blood, and more attacks loomed.
While most Americans ignored these bloody incidents, many religious Christians stepped forward and took action.  Led by William Blackstone, a group of American Christians organized one of the first pro-Israel petitions in history – decades before there even was a State of Israel!  This petition – called the Blackstone Memorial -- declared that the only way to stop the bloodshed was to create a Jewish homeland in Palestine to serve as a safe haven for persecuted Jews from Russia and around the world.
Today, the Jewish people are again under attack.  Jewish towns and villages throughout Israel are being assaulted by terrorist missiles and suicide bombers.  Thousands of Jews have been killed in cold blood.  More attacks loom.
Once again, most of the world is standing idly by as Jewish blood is spilled.  And once again, believing Christians are providing an exception to this rule of apathy. Throughout America and the world, Christians are outraged by these attacks and want to do something to stop them.
The first step in making a difference is standing up and being counted.  Just like a century ago, the time has come for Israel’s friends to step forward and openly declare their support.  What we need today is a Blackstone Memorial for a new century.

Thank you for standing united with Israel.

May God Bless You and Those that You Love,

Don't Miss John Hagee's Broadcasts next week

    Hello,

I just wanted to encourage everybody to watch John Hagee Ministries' Television Broadcasts All Next week Monday thru Friday on Day Star, TBN or Inspirational.

He will be teaching on the topics

        1. The Oil crisis in America, and how it affects YOU
        2. The rise and fall of America   (not on TBN or Daystar for this contraversial topic)
        3. Israel and Iran - The Nuclear Showdown.
        4. The European Union - The rebirth of the Roman Empire
        5. The Russian-Islamic Invasion of Israel - The Road to Armageddon
Don't miss this -  Next week September 8th thru the 12th.

NOTE on Tuesday TBN will not broadcast #2 teaching but instead a different sermon????? but Monday, Wed. Thurs. FRI will be aired.
NOTE: I think Daystar is having a Give a Thon all week
NOTE: Inspirational Channel is your best bet for next week without hindrance.

NOTE: You can also watch it on the website www.jhm.org  or buy the 5 telecasts. Don't miss this educational experience about these end times, how they are coming alive from the pages of the Bible.

Its a GREAT DAY TO KNOW JESUS!

    Re: John Hagee

John Hagee is broadcasting a very important prophetic word this week. Sept 8. I am watching TBN. He is so right about everything he is saying. Why are people not getting it. maybe you can watch this broadcast on his website, it is all about our oil dependency and the coming conflict. God bless John Hagee for his boldness.

    Re: John Hagee

    Great Sabina,

Just remember that Tuesday, it WILL NOT BE ON TBN... they will air "THE OLD GATE" instead. but you can find TUESDAY's special on Inspirational or DAY STAR.

If I was not busy ministering on the phones those days he was recording I would be a part of the Television Audience... Oh well it pays to be Diligent in work...

Tuesday's is a very important one for America and Bible Prophecy... stay tuned..

How is Pastor Hagee doing. I am praying for strenght and healing to fill his body to overflow. He is such a mighty man of God who speaks with power and boldness and he is such a blessing to the whole world. I love him and his family and wish him a very speedy recovery.
I  can't wait to have you back  at church Pastor Hagee . To God be all the glory always.

Re: Please Pray for Pastor John Hagee

Update: He is home, has a heart of an 18 year old and that he will be in church this Sunday night for the Night to Honor Israel.

watch out, God is not done with Dr. John Hagee. I expect him to be preaching up to and on the day of the rapture.

    thanks for your prayers!
