Angel [wings] SPAM filters are on again!

    Hi everyone!

Due to our ever-expanding size (praise God!) and the fact that it is really easy to sign up for CFAITH Communities, we have re-activated the SPAM filters. What they do is monitor the site for suspicious behavior, and then take action based on what they "see." For example, the SPAM filters flag users who:

    • Post a lot of posts in a short amount of time
    • Write posts/comments with a lot of links in them (this is very typical of SPAM comments)
    • Write posts with banned/disallowed words in them

    Why are we doing this?

    • First and foremost, for your protection. SPAM filters do a good job of catching posts with bad words, sexually suggestive text, or anything else you don't want to see on a Christian site.
    • To control "post flooding." If someone posts more than a couple posts in a couple of minutes, they are either copying and pasting from somewhere else, or they are a spammer. Neither is desirable. Since home page exposure is limited, we don't want one or two members filling it up all at one time.
    • There are other reasons, but the two above are the biggest concerns that the SPAM filter addresses.

Hey, you guys flagged my legitimate post as SPAM!

Posts that are flagged by the SPAM filter are saved so they can await moderation. Yes, it is possible that the SPAM filters may flag a legitimate post as SPAM from time to time. Rest assured we are doing this for everyone's protection, and if your post is legit, we will approve it and post it to the site ASAP.

Someone tried to leave a comment to my blog, but it didn't show up.

Sometimes comments made to your blog will be flagged as SPAM. You can use the "Manage Content" --> "All Comments" menu to approve/disapprove/delete comments that have not yet been published to your blog.
