This is one series that I could not get enough. I bought the first 3 books together thinking it was a trilogy not realizing there was a 4th she was writing. I had to wait a whole year that felt like forever!
It is a Christian Fiction series based in a *** world. I never "got into" any *** books for several reasons; they focused on battles and fighting and most of the names I could never pronounce. There are very easy to pronounce names here and the battles are battles of faith; not army vs. army battles.
I will only share the first few chapters of book one as to not spoil the series. It starts of with Eldrin, 5th son (maybe 6th) to the king. His real name is Abramm Kalladorne; Eldrin is his Matian name. Abramm decided since there was a slim chance of ever being on the throne, he would dedicate his life to Eidon (equivalent of God). Well, his father and older brothers are dying mysteriously and he is now next in line, but he does not know it because the Matians have sheltered him from the outside. Well, his younger brother gets a hold of Abramm and sells him and the king's captain to slavery so he could claim the crown since the current king is sick and dying. And the story goes from there.
There are many similarities to our world today. Temptation all along Abramm's path. Truth to be found, lies to be discovered.
Typing this brief synopsis is making me want to read it again. Guess I will go start.
