Life can be very busy!  It has been 3 days since you wrote me back.  Sorry for my slow reply!  I see that you are online so I am trying to catch you before you get off.  I have never had a online friendship before.  It is kind of strange not being able to talk face to face!  Even though I do have christian friends, it is nice to meet another word of faith believer.  I am excited to get to know you more!

Re: Interested in faith filled friendship

I am interested in the same.  I am a mother of 8, grandmother of 18 and great grand mother of 2 with 2 more on the way.  I am currently working outside of the house, but am working to build a business that I can do from home.  I would love the opportunity to make friends here on this forum.  I live in New Jersey on an ostrich farm.  We don't own the ostriches but one of my sons just got a job helping out.  My husband travels constantly and with most of the children gone, the quiet has become really nice.  By the way, my name is Darnell, but I go by the name, Dee.

Hi, I'm Mina in Maryland, mom to 4 under 5.  I'm a spirit-filled Word of Faith believer and would love to get to know you.  Online friends can be such a blessing when you are home with the kids and have no chance of getting out and about.  I love to read the Word, pray, listen to teachings on my iPod, and I'm online frequently when the kids allow.  :o)

Other activities I enjoy are reading, singing, and doing various crafts (although the time for crafting is basically zero right now).  My kids are my life right now, though, so most of my energy is spent raising them!

Anyway, I look forward to getting to know you and the other women who've responded.

Re: Interested in faith filled friendship

    Hi All,

I just thought I would pop in to say hello.  Just found out I have about 5 additions which will be added to our family within the next year.  When speaking with people about our family I usually joke and say, if you look in Genesis, where God said "Be fruitful and multiply" you should see my picture.

Anyway, I thought I would start with an icebreaker.  This is something I was doing with my son recently while we drove into the city.  Let's start with one of your favorite Scriptures or passages from both the OT and the NT.

One of my favorites from the OT is Jeremiah 17:7-9

"Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, and whose hope is in the Lord.  For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, which spreads out its roots by the river, and will not fear when heat comes; but its leaf will be green, and will not be anxious in the year of the drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit.

As for one of my favorite in the NT is the passage from John 1:1-14,  I love to read through to when it says that the word became flesh.  God has been teaching me more and more on how the word becomes.

OK - that's my story for the night.

Looking forward to hearing from you all.

    Blessings ladies!

Re: Interested in faith filled friendship

    Hi Kati,

I graduated from the school of packing and moving.  I can't even tell you how many times we've done it.  There are new ostrich eggs being dropped daily, but the hatching has been slow.  However, on the baby front, My daughter just informed me on Sunday that she's expecting her third child; my son told me last week that he and his wife are expecting their 4th child, I have a grandson who is expecting twins and another grandson who is expecting in October, although the Dr. seems to think she's not going to make it.  So that's 2 grand's and 3 great grands.  Keep tracking with me Kati.  I've run out of fingers and toes.

Are you standing on a verse of Scripture for the sale of your house?

Looking forward to speaking with you soon.

Anyway, I thought I would start with an icebreaker.  This is something I was doing with my son recently while we drove into the city.  Let's start with one of your favorite Scriptures or passages from both the OT and the NT.

Right now, I'd have to say my most often referred to and quoted OT scripture is Deuteronomy 28:4 “Blessed shall be the fruit of your body, the produce of your ground and the increase of your herds, the increase of your cattle and the offspring of your flocks."

There is another OT scripture that is similar that I like just about as much.  Exodus 23:26 "No one shall suffer miscarriage or be barren in your land; I will fulfill the number of your days. "

Both these have been great to stand on and claim when I've been expecting...and you know, I've never had one miscarriage or any problems with my pregnancies or births, Praise God!

My favorite NT scripture is Romans 12:1-2 "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.  And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God."

    Mina :)

HI Mina, I like your avatar picture. I enjoy flowers. I tried to get one of my iris picutres to use as my avatar but it didn't work, so I settled for a picture of the sunrise over the corn field east of our house.

Enjoy those kids, they do grow up fast! The age they are is just for a season and next thing you know you will be in a new season with them.
