    Subject: Dear One in Christ,
    __________________________________

    Dear One in Christ,

I am Mrs Cathrine NLEM  ,from Cote D' Ivoire .I am married to late Mr frank NLEM, who worked as a senior manager with the  Ivory Coast refinary  for Twenty-Six years before he died in the year 2005,after a brief illness that lasted for only five days.

We were married for Eighteen years with a son  (mathew) who later died in a motor accident. Before the untimely death of my husband,we were both born again Christians. Since after his death I decided not to remarry or get a child outside my matrimonial home which the Bible is against. When my late husband was alive he deposited the sum of  one Million,Eight hundred Thousand United States Dollars (US$1.8m) in a General Trust Account with a prime bank in Abidjan Cote d'Ivoire. Presently, this money is still with the bank.

Recently,Following my ill health, my Doctor told me  that I may not last for the next six months due to my cancer problem. The one that disturbs me most is my stroke sickness.Having known my condition I decided to donate this fund to a  Christain organization  or someone that will utilize this money the way I am going to instruct herein, according to the desire of my late husband before his death.

I want this fund to be used in Christain Activities like,Orphanages, Christain schools, and Churches for propagating  the word of God and to endeavor that the house of God  is maintained. The Bible made us to understand that "Blessed is the hand that giveth". I took this decision because I don't have any child that will inherit this money and my husband relatives are not Christians and I don't want my husband's efforts to be used by unbelievers. I don't want a situation where this money will be used in an ungodly way. This is why I am taking this decision.

I am not afraid of death  hence I know  where I am going. I know that I am going to be in the bosom of the Lord. Exodus 14 VS 14 says that "the lord will fight my case and I shall hold my peace". I don't need any telephone communication in this regard because of my health hence the presence of my husband's relatives around me always.I don't want them to know about this development. With God all things are possible.

As soon as I receive your reply I shall give you the  contact of the bank in Abidjan. I will also issue you the documents that will prove you the present  beneficiary of this fund.  I want you and the Church to always pray for me because the lord is my shephard. My happiness is that I lived a life of a worthy Christian. Whoever that  Wants to serve the Lord must serve him in spirit and
Truth. Please always be prayerful all through your  life.

Contact me on this e-mail  address:
(katenlem2@yours.com)  any delay in your reply will give me room in sourcing another person for this same purpose.

Please assure me that you will act accordingly as I  Stated herein. Hoping to receive your reply.
    Remain blessed in the Lord.

    Yours in Christ,

    Mrs Cathrine NLEM

Again, this is a SCAM...do not reply to it or follow the insructions in it...just delete it!

Yeah, I got this today.  A good lesson not to let good Christian terminology and/or doctrine be the sole basis for decisions.

Yeah one has to use wisdom and common sense as well, not always floating around on a puffy faith cloud, as my pastor likes to say. Smile

I watched a thing on Dateline about this.  Majority of these scams take place in Africa.  It's a good reason to be involved in a good church.  I know when I tithe and give to my church that the money is not only going to support the church but also support "Christain Activities like,Orphanages, Christain schools".

Wow!  Thanks for the alert.!  As I always heard while growing up, "if it sounds too good to be true, it probably isn't.  More and more, I think nothing in life is free.....even our redemption cost Jesus His life.

This is the reason I wish there was another way that our Email was set up.

This way anyone can click your E MAIL and get it through to you. If this was not on our profiles but was  ONLY on OPTIONS then they couldn't do that. We have PM to use for those of us here who want to correspond with one another  and not have to run the risk of this happening, or even worse sending viruses..

Could that be considered? To only have it on OPTIONS and not showing on the profiles?

    Excellant points SpeaktheWord.
I know we have the PM system here , but , lets be honest how many of us reguarly check our inbox? I know we should but because they look no different wether we have new mail or not they tend to be over looked and not checked!. Please Cfaith can we have a different system here so that  when we have new mail an icon or something flashes to get our attention until we go to our inbox
    Thank you

    Sandy (and everyone)

OK I have sort of improved the PM system a bit. Unfortunately making it flash is not as easy as it sounds, so I can't really do that. But I did add some code where--if you have new messages--it will put the number of unread posts in parentheses next to the inbox link, like this:

So, it may not be "flashy" but it at least tells you when you have new PMs. Please note: don't try to test this by sending PMs to yourself. They won't show up as new, because since you would be the sender and the recipient, the system thinks you have already responded to it. So send some PMs to other folks, and have them send some back to you.

EDIT: Also remember that it only shows the total number of NEW (unread) private messages, not the total number of messages that you have.

    Hope that helps!

That is not what I am   talking about at all. This does NOT fix the problem..

    I mean EMAIL.

This thread is about an EMAIL SCAM.Thats the subject.

I wish there was another way that our Email was set up so it wouldn't be so easy for these things to  happen..

I know SpeaktheWord , and I have every confidence Cfaith will be thinking right now of ways to sort this email business out for us in the light of recent events.
I was thanking Admin because knowing that I can clearly now see when I have new private messages is important to me , because , any one who has taken the time to contact me I would'nt want them thinking I wasn't bothering to reply to them simply because I hadn't realized I had a new message.
So again thanks Admin for sorting out the pm message notification I really appreciate it.
See you guys tomorrow , good night from the UK everyone.
    Love Sandy

    Re: Alert: Phishing Scam!

Thanks...enjoy! And yes SpeaktheWord you are correct, that does not address the email scam issue...but it does make PMs more useful. I am looking into how to disable the "Send email feature" from forums. I am actually contacting the tech support folks over at the company we purchased this software from...it's more complicated than it looks, trust me.

Thanks. That does help and I like how it shows on  the home page too. Knowing if we have messages is the important  thing even if it  does not  flash.
