    Free Time

Enjoy cooking special meals. It is one way that I demonstrate love and compassion.
IE.  'pecan crusted fish', 'bell peppers stuffed with garlic rice and black beans',
'grilled asparagus with cheese & topped with eggs & served with a slice of tomato'

Enjoy fellowship with family and friends and it is twice as nice if sharing a 'cuppa' warmth.  [cider, coffee, or tea]
Enjoy reading. [Helen Curtis Higgs, Jan Karon, and others]
    Enjoy music and singing.
Enjoy traveling. This world that GOD created is amazingly beautiful.  The power of the ocean.
The breath-holding beauty of the mountains covered with mist.  Lovely valleys where people settle their families.

Yes, Sandy, scenic coastlines...dotted with lighthouses are so picturesque.
Maine has so many along the coast.  It is worth the drive.
    God bless you.

The greatest thing about camping in Minnesota is the north shore. It is so beautful. God has made some of the most beautful places.,even around my house. Camping is when I can hear from god and a direction. I do have my own room to do dayly prayer and family stuff. With the fall colors out every year it is as if god gets his color palet out and just paints it. My favorit time of year. fall remids me of the death that chrit died for us. winter is death, but spring is the resurrection of christ . The life we have in eternity with him. I also like to Paint homes.someone once " why I like to paint?" It is the trans formation seeing from trath to treasure that the beauty it brings out.  Thanks My GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!!!!!!

MMMMMMM!! The pecan crusted fish sounds delish!

We lived in Portland, Oregon for 6 yrs. It was awe inspiring. Going to the coast and the mountains was the greatest. It was made all the better because of growing up in West Texas. It's flat here. 5 hrs to skiing, yuck!

I love to spend time with my daughter. I like to read, play games, have people over.

    Re: Free Time

    Free Time...

Wow - I haven't even thought about that in a very long time.  I don't camp.  Well, actually, I would camp as long as I had a roof over my head and an enclosed bathroom with a shower all to myself.  The idea of sleeping outside with the snakes never quite interested me.  However, I live in the mountains of New Jersey on an ostrich farm where I can see the Delaware Water Gap which is about 20 miles away from me,  from my bedroom window.

I once told the Lord that my perfect house would be one where I saw the sun rise on one side of the house and the sun set from the other, and this is exactly what He put me in.  Did I say that I only said that once?

Free time...  That would be in a boat with my husband fishing.  Actually, I go back and forth from fishing to taking pictures of wildlife.  Swans, blue herring, hawks, deer, huge snapping turtles.  Although I do leave the picture taking of any bear to Larry, who is my earthly hero.

He's a wonderful husband.  Fell in love with him on one of our dates, where he took me...you guessed it...fishing.  He actually saved my life.  Well, he probably wasn't going for those brownie points, but it just worked out that way.  We were fishing and he happened to look down and a water moccasin was trying to steal the fish we had caught.  I looked down at it and being a city girl, growing up in what is loving referred to as a concrete jungle, and never having seen a real snake up close, I began to run, screaming, come on Larry.  I happened to look behind me and Crocodile Larry wasn't there.  He had pulled out his knife and was killing the snake, saving my life, because I just knew I was a goner.

    I was in love.

Wait...free time. I've got to get back to you on that.

    Re: Free Time

Free time...mmmh.?  I guess it depends on what you call free time and how much (time) you have of it.
If it's just a few minutes...I'll run to the PC and see what my four favorite (Christian of course) blog sites
    are saying;  play with the kitties...they love the toy wands;  call one of our daughters who lives far away;
read...Bible, good book, mag.;  check email;  a few cords at the keyboard; relax and get my feet off the floor. ;-)

Longer free time...drive out to the farm 70 miles away...see my 89 year old father 40 miles away...a good
movie with my wife...if I want big points, take her shopping...a cool cat show....to Tulsa/mecca for a
Holy Ghost, power packed service.  !!!!!

On another note, I think free time is important in our fast paced society...it is therapeutic and lowers
stress.  I have read where some companies have "rest areas" and encourage their employees to
take a short nap at a scheduled time.  Now that is novel.;-)   Seems there are two extremes....those that
work, work, work and are all keyed up, not knowing how to relax and smell the roses and then there
are those who are "looking to do as little as possible" and are "couch potatoes."

I think free time should involve some time with just yourself, some time with one or more other people,
ie., a friend or family and some time with just the Lord.
    God is FAITHFUL!!!!!

    Re: Free Time

It's funny that you mention that people don't know how to relax. A few months ago I was listening to some friends complain about how hectic and chaotic their lives were. However, if you listened to what they were doing every day it was absolutely amazing. They were very, very busy but they weren't enjoying what they were doing. Jesus came that we would enjoy life (John 10:10) so if we aren't enjoying it we are doing something wrong.

In business we have mission statements and we run the business based on that objective. I suggested to one friend that she find out what her mission statement was by finding out what God wanted her to do in this season of her life. Then, she could evaluate all opportunities, requests to volunteer, great ideas, etc on that mission.  If the opportunity doesn't line up with her calling, she could politely decline without feeling guilty. This got me thinking that in today's society there are probably a lot of people who feel so busy but not happy doing it.

It was at this same time that I felt like I was bubbling over with all of the great teachings I had been hearing the past few years. So, I created a website called www.keepinglifesimple.net to teach people how to keep life simple so that they can enjoy the exciting life that God planned for them.  There are practical tools, tips, articles, and free printable forms to help with simplifying and organizing everyday activities. There is also a section on Christian humor to lift your spirit and and lighten your day.

Lastly and most importantly, there is an ever growing section on Word of Faith teachings about how to live the good life which includes healing, prosperity, peace, joy, and so much more. My hope is that people that don't know God will find the practical everyday tips and tools section through search engines and then come to know the one true peace through what Jesus did for them from the other pages on the site. I'm not sure what God has planned for my site but it's definitely been an adventure putting it together! Please feel free to visit sometime and let me know what you think!

    Steveb and Aussiegirl,

Thanks so much for taking time to check out the site and for taking time to send your feedback. I've never created a website before so I've been learning as I go. It's encouraging to know that people feel it's a worthwhile place to visit. You give me the encouragement to keep adding more content. I'm thinking about changing the colors. The purple may be a bit overwhelming.  We'll see how that goes......

I look forward to talking with you again!

Hi CMW just visited your web site. I found it so uplifting and refreshing , well done

Enjoyed the encouragement and humor section , in particular this one in the childrens prayers -

    Dear God:

We read Thomas Edison made light. But in Sunday school, we learned that you did it. So I bet he stole your idea.

I also have added you're site to my favorite list. And concerning the purple , i like it.

PS i apologize for the mixed color post here , it sort of went berserk when i tried to change the color of the type and it would'nt change backso heres a pair of sunglasses to help with the glare

My pastor luv to say: “when you put your heart to do GOD’s work, you will not have free time”.

To think about it, it’s rather true.  As spending quite time with The Lord is also having free time. There is no such time with so much liberty in HIS presence.
