Yeah, I did... It takes you to a strange page. I'm a web designer and you would think I would know what that's all about... but I'm thinking its about spamming keywords to get people to you pay per click site.  I just wanted a professional trackbackers opinion.

Correct us; if we are wrong….

My Pas; is an IT guy. He worked as an IT director; in a creative firm; before he takes up; the calling of a shepherd.

He taught me; what a Pingback is. Pingback and trackback are the same.  They define as website linback. (If I’m wrong; pas is wrong)

This; will notify web authors; whenever someone; logon; to one of their posts and answer it.

Hence; this link; will enable; authors to keep track on who are they talking to; commending; or answering; their articles.

Some software; such as; Word Press; and Community Server, support such.

Re: What is a trackback or a pingback

    This is per Wikipedia...

A Pingback is one of three types of Linkbacks, methods for Web authors to request notification when somebody links to one of their documents. This enables authors to keep track of who is linking to, or referring to their articles. Some weblog software, such as WordPress and Community Server, support automatic pingbacks where all the links in a published article can be pinged when the article is published.

Essentially, a Pingback is an XML-RPC request (not to be confused with an ICMP ping) sent from Site A to Site B. However, it also requires a link. When Site B receives the notification signal, it automatically goes back to Site A checking for the existence of a live incoming link. If that link exists, the Pingback is recorded successfully. This makes Pingbacks less prone to spam than Trackbacks.

After the "pingback" URL started working, I saw what it was. Its like a link exchange.
