The Matter Of What We CAN Expect From God By faith...

    Matthew 9:27-29
    And when Jesus departed thence,
    Two blind men followed him,
    crying, and saying,
    Thou
    Son of David,
    have mercy on us.

And when he was come into the house,
the blind men came to him:
    and Jesus saith unto them,
Believe ye that I am able to do this?

They said unto him, Yea, Lord.
Then touched he their eyes, saying:

    ACCORDING TO YOUR FAITH
    BE IT UNTO YOU!

Two blind men came to Jesus,
    obviously that they might
     have their sight fully
    restored!

    Jesus said do YOU believe
That I am able to do this?
    The blind mens
    IMMEDIATE response
    was: YES Lord
    !

    And Jesus'
    IMMEDIATE response
    was:
He touched he their eyes, saying:

    ACCORDING TO YOUR FAITH
    BE IT UNTO YOU!

    He granted their request IMMEDIATELY!
He did NOT send the two blind men
out on some churchy mission to PROVE
Their oh so Holy worthiness to receive
an answer to their desperate prayers!

Jesus did NOT tell them well boys,
FIRST you both have to abide
    by all of these commandments
faithfully for this specific period of time
    and THEN maybe, if you've
    proven yourselves to be acceptable,
    I'll answer your prayer!

    Too many churchified churchy
    ceremonial denominationally
    influenced traditionalized folks
have made the TRUE Gospel of Jesus Christ
of MUCH none effect by way of
    THEIR teaching of unbelief!

    God is ONLY limmitted by
OUR lack of of confidence in him!
He always works but he can ONLY work:

    ACCORDING TO OUR FAITH!

    God Bless!

And as children of God through our Lord Jesus Christ we know our faith only works by Love -Galations 5:6.
So that definately would also have to be a prerequisite for us of the new covenant in order for us to receive the promises of God.  We could have all the faith in the world but that doesn't mean it would work  if we are not walking in Love .

Sandy, I don't exactly know which translation you took the scripture from but I do know this.

This specific scripture actually relates to the integrity of the believer and NOT to a requirement of God for a person to have an assurance that he or she can expect a postiive answer from God for their prayers.

The truth is IF we were all required to walk in perfect love everyday all day toward other Christians before we could get a prayer answered by God, then none of us would EVER have any of our prayers anwered

In Strongs concordance the word faith has a very long definition and one word that stands out in that definition is the word Integrity.

Hebrews 11:6 is a powerful example of faith being defined as integrity because just before the verse the author of the book describes the Supernatural translation of Enoch who 'Walked' with God a declaration of the integrity of Enoch. The absolute best expression of Christ is a Christians LOVE walk, this evidneces to the world the true FAITH ( Christ like integrity) in every believers life.

Problem is none of us even try as hard as might to walk in the perfect love of Christ toward every other Christian we come in contact with all day everyday, like we should and actually could do we Sandy?

We're very quick to judge and condemn without justifiable cause aren't we Sandy?

I am definitely including myself in that equation because even though I DO strive as best as I can, I can't always fulfill that perfect walk but as I said before I am NOT the only one who has this dilemna am I?

The awesome thing is GOD fully understands and is gracefully merciful everyday toward us even in spite of our many shortcomings and HE will STILL positively answer our prayers IF we pray according to HIS will and HIS will IS: Beloved I wish above ALL things that you would PROSPER and BE in HEALTH even as your soul (MIND) prospers!

God loves us all even if we don't always act like we all ought to act Sandy and THAT is MY confidence that God WILL answer the prayers of petition that I have made to him!

    God Bless you!

Re: The Matter Of What We CAN Expect From God By faith...

Michael, God does extend his grace and mercy towards each of us. Yet, he still expects us to walk according to his word. We all fall short of the glory of God, and that is when his grace is sufficent for us in our times of weakness. But to know to do good and not to do it is also wrong. We are to set the example of being Christ like. We are the only Bible that many people will ever read.
We cant be a grudge holder, we must be quick to forgive, Mark 11:25 we also have got to walk that extra mile even when we don't want too.
I really believe that we will be held accountable for that which we know to do and we choose not too.
And I know personally if I am believing God for something and I haven't received the answer, I check my love walk. If I am not walking in love then I know I am disqualifying myself from God's best.

    candj88:

Michael, God does extend his grace and mercy towards each of us.

Yes indeed God does extend all of his grace toward all of us all of the time, even when we are YET sinners and fully incapable of ever being absolutely perfect in anyway at anytime, Glory to God HE remains faithful to his covenant promsie that HIS mercy is NEW every morning!

    candj88:
Yet, he still expects us to walk according to his word. We all fall short of the glory of God, and that is when his grace is sufficent for us in our times of weakness.

God never expects us to walk perfectly according to his word because God knows we cannot ever walk perfectly according to his word.

God only expects us to do the best that we can do with the HIS help and even when we intentionally sin HE still stands ready to always forgive us when we confess our own sins.

    candj88:
But to know to do good and not to do it is also wrong.

Give me absolute unquestionable evidential proof of just ONE Christian  who never sins, just one.....

    candj88:

We cant be a grudge holder,

Yes we are to be examples of Jesus all of the time and NOT be grudge holders!

BUT may I say this every person unsaved that I have ever spoken to has said the same thing, in too many cases the worst examples of Jesus they ever meet are the Christians who are supposed to be living examples of Jesus to them.

Wonder why that is? I believe that it is because of self righteous holier than anyone and everyone judgmental condemning churchy christians who assume things they do not know to actually be true.

FAITH (true Christ like integrity) works by the true expresion of Jesus Christ's compassion toward EVERYONE regardless of that persons faults or failures.

    candj88:

Believe I truly know and understand just how especially hard it can be to truly forgive those who have deeply hurt you because I have been there and done that having myself come out of an extremely HARD place of very deep abuse and rejection, but as hard as it was to forgive I forgave, and even now as hard as it still is to forgive those who profess to be Christs who wrongfully abuse me through their judgmental and condemning attitudes I STILL continue to forgive them.

I said that to again stress this fact. NO Christian anywhere ever walks in true Christ like love toward everyone all the time I don't care what anyone says NONE of us EVER do that. God is well aware of that fact and he does NOT withhold any of HIS compassionate goodness from us.

I refuse to spend my days walking around judging and condemning myself denying myself of GODS goodness just because I may have failed him in some way, wheteher that failure is big or small.

One of my Grandsons Ezekiel is here visiting us right now, he is almost 4 years old, he will tell you that he is Grandpa's bestest buddy.

BUT he is by no means absolutely perfect, sometimes he does something he shouldn't do and THEN he disappoints even his bestest buddy Grandpa.

BUT even when he has done something wrong  if he needs ANYTHING or he wants ANYTHING he KNOWS he that can come to his Grandpa and IF Grandpa is able to get it, Grandpa will get him whatever it is he wants.

That's how God is with us.......
